Cherina Cheng is a young Chinese diaspora artist active in the field of contemporary art. In 2026, she participated in the large-scale group exhibition “Light Carnival: Hive Becoming” curated by the Hive Center for Contemporary Art, which examined a new generation of young Chinese diaspora artists worldwide and opened on July 11 of the same year across all exhibition halls of Hive | Beijing Headquarters. Cheng’s work was included in the exhibition’s “Theatre” section, one of the five thematic units. This participation marks an important milestone in Cheng’s artistic career; as one of the 55 first-time participating artists, she was introduced to both domestic and international art stages through the Hive Center for Contemporary Art, a platform dedicated to supporting young artists.
