Du Jing Ze, born in 1995 in Yantai, China, is a Chinese-Irish artist. He studied for a BA in Painting at the National College of Art and Design, Dublin from 2014 to 2017, and completed an MA in Painting at the Royal College of Art, London from 2017 to 2019. His artistic concept often explores the boundaries of identity and space through painting. He was awarded the NUI Art and Design Award in 2017, nominated for the NCAD Staff Prize in 2016, and was a finalist for Canon Young Fashion Photographer of the Year in 2015. Notable solo exhibitions include “Elsewhere” at Hive Center for Contemporary Art, Beijing in 2021; “Magic Kingdom” and “In Between” at Steve Turner, Los Angeles in 2020; “Crystal City After Dark” at Sol Art Gallery, Dublin in 2019; and “Nostalgia, Waves” at Pallas Projects/Studios, Dublin in 2016. Group exhibitions include “Our World 2”, an online presentation at Steve Turner in 2021; Enter Art Fair, Copenhagen in 2020; “College” at House of Vans, London and “Hidden Dimensions” at Coningsby Gallery, London in 2019; and “Thumbnail” at the Royal College of Art in 2018, among others. He participated in the RHA Studio Programme residency in 2020.
