简介Biography
龚剑，1978年生于湖北荆州，2001年毕业于湖北美术学院油画系获学士学位，现任教于湖北美术学院动画学院。其创作在当代艺术语境中展开，2006年获得中国当代艺术奖（CCAA）。重要个展包括2007年在武汉美术文献艺术中心举办的“不高兴”。参与的主要群展有：2006年“12中国当代艺术奖获奖作品展”（上海证大现代艺术馆）、“艺术北京画廊博览会”（北京）、“年轻一代的绘画”（北京世纪翰墨画廊）、“春市”（武汉美术文献艺术中心）、“新年快乐——年轻一代的绘画”（武汉美术文献艺术中心）及“DFOTO--圣塞巴斯蒂安国际摄影、录象艺术节”（西班牙）；2005年“WHS 8——他们在这做什么”（武汉建银大厦）；2004年“恭喜发财鱼目混珠狐假虎威”（武汉红城艺术中心）、“即插即用”（武汉拜赞庭小区）、“慢”（武汉美术文献艺术中心）；2003年“第五系统：后规划时代的公共艺术——第五届深圳雕塑展”（深圳华侨城OCT广场）、“距离”（广州广东美术馆）、“少数服从多数”（上海BIZART艺术中心）；2002年“Chinart--来自中国的现代艺术”（巡展于德国杜伊斯堡Kuppersmuhle博物馆、意大利罗马当代艺术博物馆、匈牙利布达佩斯路德维西当代艺术博物馆、波兰彼德哥煦市政厅画廊）；2001年“WELCOME”（武汉金沙苑）；2000年“现场之外——水”（北京平谷）。

Gong
Jian’s
works
involve
diverse
mediums
such
as
painting,
photography,
and
installation. Different from painters in the art market who are conservative in their styles
and formats, he has always been exploring new possibilities. From his previous “bad
painting” style to attempts at conceptualist abstraction, to the retrospection of the works
of pre- and early-modernism, the artist sought to shed light on a range of fundamental
issues in painting. As a typical case in the contemporary Chinese painting system, Gong
Jian has always been committed to establishing his path in social intervention and genre
advancement, combining oil painting materials with the pre-socialist realism painting
style. In recent years, the artist has also attempted to incorporate historical thinking and
observation of geopolitics into his painting practice.
