简介Biography
何迟，1978年生于甘肃，2002年毕业于西安美术学院。他于2007年成立并加入雄黄社，2011年成立并加入南山绘画小组，2012年发起创办“我们说要有空间于是就有了空间”。现生活工作于北京。何迟的创作涉及行为、装置、绘画等多种媒介，其艺术实践常以观念性介入社会空间。重要个展包括2012年在北京“我们说要有空间于是就有了空间”举办的“强奸室”及线上展览“眼泪”，2011年在甘肃石节子美术馆举办的“我比较懂事”，以及2010年在北京举办的“2010中艺博亚洲年轻艺术家个展单元”。群展经历丰富，涵盖国内外多个机构，如2013年荷兰格罗宁根美术馆的“不合作方式2”、2012年北京尤伦斯当代艺术中心的“SEE/SAW：南山绘画小组”、2011年北京今日美术馆的“XXX”、2010年北京“大声展：微笑”、2009年北京白盒子艺术馆的“主观：当代绘画五个案”、2008年北京方音画廊的“无声的风景”、2007年上海东廊艺术的“态度”、2006年北京唐人当代艺术中心的“二踢脚”、2005年北京后现代城的“一万年”、2004年西安陕西省美术博物馆的“什么艺术展”及法国里昂现代艺术馆的“‘里里外外’之长征馆”、2003年西安的“为学”、2002年昆明的“长征——一个行走中的视觉展示”和西安的“妆”等。
He Chi, born in 1978 in Gansu, graduated from the Xi'an Academy of Fine Arts in 2002. In 2007 he founded and joined the Xionghuang Society; in 2011 he founded and joined the Nanshan Painting Group; in 2012 he initiated and founded the space 我们说要有空间于是就有了空间 (Wǒmen shuō yào yǒu kōngjiān yúshì jiù yǒule kōngjiān). He currently lives and works in Beijing. He Chi's practice spans performance, installation, painting, and other media, and his artistic practice often conceptually intervenes in social space.
Important solo exhibitions include "Rape Room" at 我们说要有空间于是就有了空间 (Wǒmen shuō yào yǒu kōngjiān yúshì jiù yǒule kōngjiān) in Beijing in 2012, along with the online exhibition "Tears"; "I Am Rather Sensible" at the Shijiezi Art Museum in Gansu in 2011; and the "2010 CIGE Asian Young Artists Solo Exhibition Section" in Beijing in 2010. He has an extensive group exhibition record at many institutions in China and abroad, including: "Fuck Off 2" at the Groninger Museum, the Netherlands, 2013; "SEE/SAW: Nanshan Painting Group" at the Ullens Center for Contemporary Art, Beijing, 2012; "XXX" at the Today Art Museum, Beijing, 2011; "Get It Louder: Smile" in Beijing, 2010; "Subjectivity: Five Cases of Contemporary Painting" at the White Box Art Center, Beijing, 2009; "Silent Landscape" at Fang Yin Gallery, Beijing, 2008; "Attitude" at East Link Gallery, Shanghai, 2007; "Double-Bang Firecracker" at Tang Contemporary Art Center, Beijing, 2006; "Ten Thousand Years" at Postmodern City, Beijing, 2005; "What Art Exhibition" at the Shaanxi Province Art Museum, Xi'an, 2004, and "'Inside Out' – The Long March Pavilion" at the Musée d'art contemporain de Lyon, France, 2004; "Wei Xue (为学)" in Xi’an, 2003; "The Long March – A Walking Visual Display" in Kunming, 2002, and "Makeup (妆)" in Xi’an, 2002.
