简介Biography
Hu Shunxiang, born in Shandong province, graduated from the Sichuan Fine Arts Institute in 2011 with a BFA in oil painting. She now lives and works in Chengdu. The classical quality of her work stems from her training in oil painting, and in her subconscious she has a natural affinity for mysticism.
Her work is essentially centred on texts and stories; she works across mediums — painting, pictorial installation, and theatrical production — being at once the artist, director, and scriptwriter. Her paintings are often filled with strong dramatic conflict and hidden storytelling. Concerned both with the subject of women and with a human condition beyond gender, at the core of her work lies a rich literary and philosophical spirit.
Practice
