简介Biography
金明灿（Kim Myung Chan）1992年出生于韩国原州，现居韩国首尔。他于2018年获得美国芝加哥艺术学院绘画专业艺术学士学位，2024年获得韩国弘益大学绘画专业艺术硕士学位。金明灿的创作始终锚定于身体经验与物质性的临界地带，以喷枪绘画装置折射数字时代下人类存在与感知的复杂光谱。结合自身离散经历，他的作品将具象形态解构为震颤的视觉能量场——淤血的瞳孔、悬置的肢体、工业支架上的有机碎片——将身体行动的痕迹铭刻于创作中，使之成为承载着重力、脆弱和时间蚀痕的碎片。重要个展包括2025年上海BROWNIE Project的“一线天光”和首尔YK艺术空间的“合成呼吸”，以及2024年首尔dive.seoul的“离线身体”。部分群展有2024年首尔YK艺术空间的“人性数据”、2023年首尔弘益美术馆的“另一种物质性”、2020年芝加哥天堂画廊的“在场与缺席”和2018年芝加哥LeRoy Neiman艺术中心的“缺失”。2020年，他参加了美国约翰逊的佛蒙特工作室中心驻留计划。
Kim Myung Chan (b. 1992, Wonju, South Korea) currently lives and works in Seoul. He received a BFA in Painting from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2018, and an MFA in Painting from Hongik University in 2024. Kim Myung Chan’s practice consistently anchors itself at the threshold between bodily experience and materiality, using airbrush painting installations to refract the complex spectrum of human existence and perception in the digital age. Drawing on his own diasporic experiences, his works deconstruct figurative forms into tremorous visual energy fields—bloodshot pupils, suspended limbs, organic fragments on industrial supports—inscribing the traces of bodily action into the creation, making them fragments that bear gravity, vulnerability, and the erosions of time. Important solo exhibitions include “A Sliver of Sky Light” at BROWNIE Project, Shanghai, and “Synthetic Breath” at YK Art Space, Seoul, in 2025, as well as “Offline Body” at dive.seoul, Seoul, in 2024. Selected group exhibitions include “Human Data” at YK Art Space, Seoul, in 2024, “Another Materiality” at Hongik Museum of Art, Seoul, in 2023, “Presence and Absence” at Heaven Gallery, Chicago, in 2020, and “Lack” at LeRoy Neiman Center, Chicago, in 2018. In 2020, he participated in a residency at the Vermont Studio Center in Johnson, USA.
