孟小为（Meng Xiaowei），1962年出生于甘肃，1982年毕业于天津师范学院美术专业，1988年深造于中央工艺美院，2000年在上海成立工作室，一直从事绘画与纪录片拍摄，现主要往来于北京、上海，生活在甘肃省陇南。其创作涵盖绘画与纪录片，重要展览包括：1982年获天水师范学院美术系速写竞赛一等奖；1989年作品入选《中国现代艺术展》（北京）；2006年完成纪录片《红线》；2011年纪录片《飞地上的草房》参展日本山形国际纪录电影节；2013年纪录片《匈牙利照相机》参展第十届北京独立影像展，同年作品参展中国-东盟艺术双年展（南宁）；2014年在中国第十届独立影像展中，纪录片《似是而非》获年度十佳纪录片奖（南京）；2015年参展“各人一？”，韩国首尔；2017年举办“孟小为绘画作品展”，艺典空间，北京；2018年举办“行走日记－孟小为纸上作品展”，大门艺术空间，甘肃，同年独立放映《张素英的城堡》，大连市回声艺术空间；2019年举办孟小为个展，天水师范学院，甘肃天水，同年参展“青新2019实验艺术展”，兰州雁儿湾美术馆，以及IDF·2019西湖国际纪录片大会。

Meng Xiaowei (b. 1962, Gansu) is an experimental and conceptually driven artist whose practice spans painting, documentary film, video, installation, photography, and animation. His work is often socially engaged and marked by strong imagery, memory, and a deep connection to his hometown in Longnan, Gansu. Recurring themes include social commentary, time and memory, life, cultural identity, and the idea of home.
Representative works include the oil paintings *Xifugou* (媳妇沟, 2025, oil on canvas) and *Biyu River* (碧玉河, 2025, oil on canvas), as well as several documentaries: *Red Line* (红线, 2006), *A Hut on the Enclave* (飞地上的草房, 2011), *Hungarian Camera* (匈牙利照相机, 2013), *Shi Si Er Fei* (似是而非, 2014), and *Zhang Suying’s Castle* (张素英的城堡, 2018).
