Shao Annan is a contemporary artist. In 2026, the artist’s video work *Hamster Run* was presented as the opening piece of the group exhibition “Oops! Oops! I’m Gonna Be Late!” (Hive｜Art Research Project No.4) at Hive Center for Contemporary Art. Curated by Chen Yuying, the exhibition featured seven artists—Shao Annan, Meng Qingjun, Qi Baiting, Qin Ni, Wang Xinyan, Yuan Haiyu, and Zhang Jialei—and ran from March 21 to May 5, 2026. Shao Annan’s *Hamster Run* adopts a first-person narrative, recounting the protagonist’s fall into a labyrinthine space while chasing a hamster, where they repeatedly confront mechanical challenges and undergo cycles of failure, ultimately discovering that the labyrinth’s stages constitute a visual narrative of their own psychic structure.
