简介Biography
熊伟（Xiong Wei），艺术家。其雕塑作品关注非原生物种被人为迁徙至异地后，在携带经济期待的同时无视当地法则，生长、越界并自组秩序的过程。小龙虾、罗非鱼、福寿螺与竹子等穿透语境的异质生命，在其创作中于语法之外建立起短暂的繁荣，直到被携带规则的人为其设置秩序与限制。2025年，熊伟的作品参展于蜂巢当代艺术中心举办的群展“未介之时”。
Xiong Wei is an artist. His sculptural works centre on the process by which non-native species, artificially relocated to unfamiliar environments, carry economic expectations while disregarding indigenous rules—growing, overstepping boundaries, and self-organising into new orders. In his practice, heterogeneous life forms such as crayfish, tilapia, apple snails and bamboo, which traverse contexts, establish a brief prosperity beyond syntax, until those who bear rules impose order and restraint upon them. In 2025, Xiong Wei’s works were included in the group exhibition "The Time Before Intervention" (未介之时) at the Hive Center for Contemporary Art.

Xiong Wei’s practice is rooted in a conceptual and socially engaged approach, often working across sculpture, installation, and mixed media. His creative world revolves around the fate of non‑native species that are deliberately relocated to foreign ecosystems. Carrying economic expectations while disregarding local rules, these organisms – crayfish, tilapia, apple snails, bamboo – grow beyond boundaries, forge their own transient order, and then are met with human‑imposed rules and restrictions once their prosperity threatens established grammars. This tension between uncontrolled expansion and imposed discipline runs through his work, giving it a critical edge on issues of migration, identity, and ecological intervention.
Representative works include the 2025 ceramic and metal-glaze piece *边界生长* (Boundary Growth); the multi‑material sculpture *何以为家* (Where Is Home), which combines ceramic, metal glaze, metal and aluminium; the triptych *从他乡到他者 1–3* (From a Foreign Land to the Other 1–3), employing ceramic, metal glaze, acrylic and metal; and *错位的福寿* (Misplaced Fortune and Longevity), made of ceramic, metal and leather. All these works were recently presented in the group exhibition *未介之时* (Before Intervention) at Hive Center for Contemporary Art, Shanghai, in 2025.
