简介Biography
袁海宇（YUAN HAIYU），1996年出生于南京。2018年毕业于江南大学美术学专业，获艺术学士学位；2020年毕业于皇家艺术学院（Royal College of Art）绘画专业，获艺术硕士学位；2026年获得英国爱丁堡大学艺术博士（绘画实践）学位。现工作生活于中国深圳。袁海宇的绘画语言独具特色，他在创作中采用第三人称的叙事视角，将画面化为故事的载体。在他的作品中，观众的视线被引导进入一个复杂的视觉世界，有限的画面中隐藏着无限的叙事。观众在游览画面时，不自觉地寻找更多细节，试图解读艺术家通过画面所传递的深层意义。这种视角使他的作品区别于传统绘画，画面中充满了故事的留白，观众被邀请成为叙事的一部分，与画面共同完成对故事的建构。这种互动性赋予他的绘画一种动态的特质，使之在视觉和情感上更具吸引力。
YUAN HAIYU, born in Nanjing in 1996, graduated from the Fine Arts programme at Jiangnan University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2018, received a Master of Arts in Painting from the Royal College of Art in 2020, and earned a PhD in Art (Painting Practice) from the University of Edinburgh in 2026. He currently lives and works in Shenzhen, China. YUAN HAIYU’s painterly language is distinctive; he adopts a third‑person narrative perspective, turning the picture plane into a vehicle for stories. In his works, the viewer’s gaze is guided into a complex visual world, where boundless narratives lie hidden within a finite frame. As viewers travel through the image, they unconsciously search for more detail, trying to decipher the deeper meaning the artist transmits through the picture. This perspective distinguishes his work from traditional painting: the picture is filled with narrative gaps, and viewers are invited to become part of the storytelling, joining the image in constructing the narrative.
