前言Introduction

在《南风》绘画中,Lilyjon 要对那些极度模糊的原始图像进行辨认和模拟,再以清晰的结构将其重建至画面。指甲、发丝、唇边的褶皱、光透过百叶窗时的变形……那些被遗忘的记忆统统被还原出来,然后又将其模糊和掩盖。于是,在最终呈现的色层之下,隐藏着大量的结构描绘,隐藏着光暗和空气的动向。将大量的精力花费在人们看不到的地方,像一本写满了的笔记,诗、故事、随笔和记录……层层叠加、压缩变薄,而最终人们看到的只是封皮。在这个过程中,情绪经过漫长的堆砌进而消磨殆尽,原本的热烈变成冷漠,熟悉变成陌生,带来的结果则是一种重新发现。最终我们发现,Lilyjon 所要描绘的,不是筋骨与皮肉,而是光与尘。人或物则给它们带来扰动,我们称之为痕迹与时间。

In the paintings of Southerly Breeze, Lilyjon had to identify and simulate the extremely blurred original images, and then reconstruct them into the frame with a clear structure. Fingernails, hair strands, folds around the lips, and the distortion of light through the blinds ...... all forgotten memories that have been restored. It is then blurred and masked. Thus, underneath the final layer of the painting that is presented, a huge structure is depicted, which hiding the movement of light, shadow and air. A lot of energy is expended on the works people cannot see, like a notebook full of writing, poems, stories, essays and records ...... layered on top of each other, compressed and thinned out, while in the end all one can see is just the cover. In this process, emotions are built up and worn out over a long period of time, the original warmth becomes indifference, familiarity becomes strangeness, and the result is a kind of rediscovery. In the end, we find that what Lilyjon wants to depict is not bones and flesh, but light and dust. People and objects disturb them, and we call them traces and time.

2016 年,Lilyjon 拿起过时的Nokia2690 手机,持续在城市游走中进行“盲拍”。8 个月中所得的八千多张低像素照片,成为追踪艺术家行为的线索和证据。这些照片被Lilyjon

反复挑选、多次翻拍、重新串联,一个并无预谋的故事在慢慢生成。

2017 年,Lilyjon 完成了“南风漫行诗脚本”的创作。它是一份“故事、诗、剧本”相融合的文本,包含完整的四个章节。

2023 年至2024 年,Lilyjon 用影像的方式对自己的作品进行了再次篡改,创作了时长近半小时的“南风影像”。艺术家从内部打破线性叙事,通过散布在作品中的图像、诗句和对白,重新讲述另一个纷繁离奇的故事。作品展现了人物内心的挣扎和对人生意义的追寻,以及艺术家对历史与记忆、青春与爱情、理想与命运、死亡与超越等问题的深刻思考。

In 2016, Lilyjon picked up a outdated Nokia2690 mobile phone and continued to take "blind photos" as he walked around the city. More than 8,000 low-pixel photographs taken over the period of eight months became clues and evidence to track the artist's behaviour. These photos were selected, re-shot and re-connected by Lilyjon over and over again, and an unpremeditated story is created slowly. In 2017, Lilyjon completed the creation of the Southerly Breeze Wandring Poem Script. It is a "story, poem, script" text that contains four complete chapters. Between 2023 and 2024, Lilyjon tampered with the work in video form, creating Southerly Breeze Video, that nearly half an hour long. The artist breaks the linear narrative from the inside and re-tells another bizarre story through images, poems and dialogues scattered throughout the work. The video reveals the inner struggle of the characters and their search for the meaning of life, as well as the artist's profound thoughts on issues such as history and memory, youth and love, ideals and destiny, and death and transcendence.

“每个人都有一座自己的鲸城,并憧憬着南风的到来。前者也许是自我、往昔、故土和现实,后者也许是未来、诗歌、爱情、信仰、金钱与欲望。”

"Everyone has a whale city of their own and longs for the Southerly Breeze. The former may be the self, the past, the homeland and the reality, while the latter may be the future, poetry, love, faith, money and desire."从表面上看,一个爱情没有发生的爱情故事被完好封装在那里。

On the surface, a love story where love didn't happen is encapsulated intact.

相遇而不相识的男女主角用互不相通的方言进行着自言自语式的讲述与对话。他们像谈论生活那样谈论自我与死亡,像谈论死亡那样谈论一个无法触及的更高的存在,正如作品中鱼缸里的鲸鸣,孤独、缓慢、不安而神秘。

The man and woman, who meet but don't know each other, they talk to themselves or the other in dialects that they cant' understand each other. They talk about death as living, talk about an untouchable higher existence as dying, like the whale song in the fish tank in the video, which is lonely, slow, disturbing and mysterious.
