Dou Wei is a young Chinese diaspora artist. In 2026, she participated in the large-scale group exhibition “Light Carnival: Hive · Becoming” curated by the Hive Center for Contemporary Art. Staged across the entire exhibition space of Hive’s Beijing headquarters, the exhibition brought together 75 young Chinese diaspora and Asian artists from around the world; Dou Wei’s works were presented in the “Theatre” section. The exhibition was part of the Hive Center for Contemporary Art’s “Hive · Becoming” project, a long-term initiative supporting young artists that, since its launch in 2013, has mounted the first solo exhibitions in China for 64 young Asian artists.
