刘玖通，1977年出生于陕西绥德，2000年毕业于西安美术学院，2004年后定居上海，职业画家。其艺术创作以油画为载体，融合中国传统水墨的写意与西方抽象表现主义技法，形成了独特的“东方唯美抽象”风格。2006年成立个人工作室并参加上海艺术博览会。2011年其作品开始进入拍卖市场，2013年在香港苏富比拍卖中作品价格突破百万港元，并于同年在北京中国美术馆举办“东方抽象——刘玖通”中国巡回展，作品《相从大块中》被中国美术馆永久收藏。此后其作品多次于苏富比、佳士得等拍卖行上拍，并在上海、台北、新加坡、威尼斯等地举办个展。2025年，其个展“迈步”在养云举办，展览聚焦新作，以空前自由的线性语言呈现创作生涯的内在转向，从对外部世界的凝视转入对生命本源的倾听，画布上凝固的不再仅是山河肌理，更是一个灵魂在时空褶皱中自我辨认的等高线。
Liu Jiutong, born in 1977 in Suide, Shaanxi Province, graduated from the Xi’an Academy of Fine Arts in 2000. After 2004, he settled in Shanghai and became a professional painter. His artistic practice takes oil painting as its medium, integrating the freehand brushwork of traditional Chinese ink painting with Western Abstract Expressionist techniques to develop a distinctive “Oriental Aesthetic Abstraction” style. In 2006, he established his own studio and participated in the Shanghai Art Fair. His works entered the auction market in 2011. In 2013, a piece sold at Sotheby’s Hong Kong surpassed one million Hong Kong dollars, and in the same year, the National Art Museum of China in Beijing hosted his China touring exhibition “Oriental Abstraction – Liu Jiutong”; his work Xiang Cong Da Kuai Zhong was acquired for the museum’s permanent collection.
