Yan Zhancheng was born in 1984 in Yan’an, China. He graduated from Xi’an Academy of Fine Arts Oil Painting Department with a bachelor’s degree in 2018. He currently lives and works in Beijing, China. Yan‘s creations are rooted in subconscious depictions, which embrace memories of his hometown, his love of literature, and his intuition for color. Past experiences are silently woven into his images, forming his unique painting language. The events in his works are not given with standard answers, but rather the viewers are expected to communicate with the images based on their own experiences.
