尹朝阳（Yin Zhaoyang），1970年生于中国河南南阳，1996年毕业于中央美术学院，现工作生活于北京。90年代末，以尹朝阳为代表的“青春残酷绘画”，震撼人心地展示出一代人彷徨而“残酷”的青春体验，重新使绘画在叙事性、图像概念以及美学趣味上，具有一种崭新的实验性和思想深度，并构成90年代前卫绘画的重要倾向。在此后的《神话》《乌托邦》《正面》等系列作品中，通过不断深入的内心追问和与之相应的繁复而深刻的语言探索，他完成了从表现敏感的青春体验到展示一个更复杂深沉的精神世界的转变，成为中国“新绘画”的重要代表。2011年以来，尹朝阳转向一种有着强烈的个人气质、敏锐的当代视觉、和雄浑而深厚的传统底蕴的“心灵风景”。以恢弘与纯粹的绘画语言，发展出一种全新的，包含着个人与社会、历史与当下的山水画景观。
Yin Zhaoyang, born in 1970 in Nanyang, Henan, China, graduated from the Central Academy of Fine Arts in 1996. He currently lives and works in Beijing. In the late 1990s, the “Youth Cruel Painting,” epitomized by Yin Zhaoyang, powerfully revealed a generation’s hesitant and “cruel” experience of youth, reinvesting painting with a new experimental character and intellectual depth in terms of narrativity, image concepts, and aesthetic taste, and constituting a significant tendency within 1990s avant-garde painting.
In subsequent series such as Myth, Utopia, and Front, through increasingly profound inward questioning and correspondingly complex and rigorous explorations of painterly language, he completed a shift from expressing sensitive youthful experience to revealing a more complex and deep spiritual world, thereby becoming an important representative of China’s “New Painting.” Since 2011, Yin Zhaoyang has turned toward a “spiritual landscape” marked by a strong personal temperament, an acute contemporary vision, and a profound and solid traditional grounding. With a grand and pure painting language, he has developed an entirely new landscape painting vision that encompasses the individual and society, history and the present.

He subsequently developed this introspective language through acclaimed cycles such as *Myth* (神话), *Utopia* (乌托邦), and *Front* (正面), shifting from the sensitivity of adolescent experience to the articulation of a more complex, profound inner world.
